As a member of the Kansas Walleye Association, you have the opportunity to - Round up a partner and join us for a great time with some of the finest walleye fishermen in the country. Meet new people, make new friends, catch walleye in lakes across the state and promote Walleye Conservation. A KWA membership offers all this and more. Whether you fish one or more tournaments, you’ll come away with a memorable experience.
There are also the fish stories and the friends and acquaintances you can share your experiences with at the tournaments. What’s a successful day on the water? Some say it’s if you catch fish—any fish. Some say it’s only if you catch your limit. And some say that even if you don’t catch a walleye it’s still been a good day. Some teams go home with prize money and some don’t, but everyone’s a winner for having experienced the excitement and fun of participating in a first class fishing event.
The Kansas Walleye Association donates ten percent (10%) of your membership fee to Walleye Conservation. There is an 80% payback of the entry fees collected at each tournament. Sixty percent (60%) of the membership fee is paid back to the Top Five Buddy Teams at the end of the season. The order of finish, starting with the highest scoring team, will determine who will be eligible for slots awarded to our club from the Cabela’s National Walleye Championship (NTC) the following spring. |
Wilson Walleye Tournament * April 27th, 2008

Registration begins at 5:50 p.m. The tournament pre-meeting (attendance required) will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26th at the Tatanka Lodge in the State Park. Tournament take-off and weigh-in will be held at the boat ramp in the Wilson State Park. |
Glen Elder Walleye Tournament * May 4th, 2008
Kansas Governor’s Cup

Registration begins at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 3rd. The tournament pre-meeting (attendance required) will begin at 7:00 p.m. A supper for tournament teams and their families will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. arranged by the Mitchell County Crime Stoppers at at the Parish Hall, 1202 Holly St. Cawker City (Pre-meeting and Supper).
On tournament day (May 4), the take-off and weigh- in will be at the East Boat Ramp in the State Park. |
Milford Walleye Tournament * May 18th, 2008
Sponsor: Mid-Kansas Marine, Andover and Hutchinson
Co-sponsor: Flint Hills Beverage, Manhattan
Tournament registration begins at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 17 at the Eagle Ridge area in the State Park. The tournament pre-meeting (attendance required) will follow at 7:00 p.m.
On tournament day (May 18), take-off and weigh-in will be at the State park, Rush Creek Boat Ramp. |
Marion Walleye Tournament * June 22nd, 2008

Co-Sponsors: Canada Bait & Tackle, Marion; The Marion Lake Association & City Beverage, Hutchinson
Tournament registration begins at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, at the Cottonwood Park area. The tournament pre-meeting (attendance required) will follow at 7:00 p.m.
On tournament day (June 22), the take-off and weigh-in will also be in the Cottonwood Park Area. A tournament day breakfast is provided for all the contestants from 5:00 a.m – 6:45 a.m. The breakfast is sponsored by Canada Bait and Tackle and the Marion Lake Association. |
El Dorado Walleye Tournament * June 29th, 2008

Tournament registration begins at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 28th, at the Blue Stem Point Shelter House area in the State Park. The tournament pre-meeting (attendance required) will follow at 7:00 p.m.
On tournament day (June 29), take- off and weigh-in will be at the ramp by the Blue Stem Point South Boat Ramp in the State Park. |
Melvern Walleye Tournament * July 13th, 2008

Tournament registration will begin at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, in the area behind the Melvern Marina. The pre-meeting (attendance required) will be held at 7:00 p.m.
On tournament day (July 13), the take off and weigh-in will be at the East Boat Ramp in the Eisenhower State Park. |
